Antelope Valley Couple Charged in Torture and Death of 4-Year-Old Boy
Authorities have charged an Antelope Valley father and his fiancée in connection with the horrific torture and killing of his 4-year-old son, a case that has shocked the local community.
Seven Months of Alleged Abuse Ends in Tragedy
According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, Andrew Havrella, 36, and his fiancée, Lacie Fetters, 25, subjected the child to seven months of abuse and torture before his tragic death on December 3, 2024.
"Any form of violence against children is reprehensible," said District Attorney Nathan Hochman in a statement. "Our office will be their defender and will vigorously seek justice in this case."
Murder, Torture, and Child Abuse Charges
Lacie Fetters has been charged with one count of murder, torture, and assault on a child causing death. If convicted, she faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in state prison. She is currently being held on $3 million bail.
Andrew Havrella, the child’s father, has been charged with torture and child abuse. If found guilty, he could also receive a life sentence. Prosecutors have recommended his bail be set at $1.1 million.
A Two-Month Investigation Leads to Arrests
Investigators believe the abuse began sometime after May 1, 2024. The cycle of violence ended on December 3, when Fetters allegedly killed the boy. After an extensive two-month investigation, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department arrested the couple on January 21, 2025.
Fetters is scheduled to be arraigned on March 6, while Havrella was due in court on January 31.
