Medical Examiner Identifies Two Women Found Dead in Acton Homicide Investigation
The L.A. County Medical Examiner's Office has released the names of two women whose deaths are being investigated by the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau.
The women, Rosa Sandoval Rodriguez, 76, and Aida Bensimon, 50, both from Acton, were found on Sunday evening after authorities were alerted by the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station.
At this time, the Medical Examiner has listed the cause of death for both women as deferred, meaning more investigation is needed to determine the exact cause.
According to the L.A. County Sheriff's Department, deputies from the Palmdale station responded to a welfare check at a home on the 2400 block of Soledad Canyon Road in Acton around 5:35 p.m. Upon arrival, they detained a person of interest who also lived at the property.
The deputies then discovered the two women, both unconscious, at the scene. L.A. County Fire Department personnel responded quickly, but both women were pronounced dead at the location.
Lt. Michael Modica from the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau told The Signal that the case is still under investigation, with detectives working to determine how the women died.
While a 38-year-old man from Los Angeles was arrested in connection with the incident, Lt. Modica confirmed that he has not been identified as a suspect in the deaths at this time.
