‘Smallville’ Star Tom Welling Arrested for DUI in California

Actor Tom Welling, best known for portraying Clark Kent/Superman on the hit TV series Smallville, was arrested early Sunday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to police records obtained.

Details of the Arrest

The 47-year-old actor was taken into custody by Yreka police in Siskiyou County, California, around 12:09 a.m. He was booked at 2:10 a.m. and later released at 7:07 a.m., according to the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office.

Welling was also charged with DUI with a blood alcohol level exceeding 0.08%, which is over the legal limit in California.

Upcoming Court Appearance

In addition to his Smallville fame, Welling is known for roles in Judging Amy, Cheaper by the Dozen, and Lucifer. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 11 to face the charges.

Timing of the Arrest

Interestingly, Welling’s arrest occurred the same day he shared a heartfelt Instagram tribute to his wife, Jessica Welling, in celebration of her birthday.
