Suspect in Assault Case Taken into Custody After Roof Standoff

Deputies responded to the 1800 Block of East Avenue Q-9 after a male suspect, wanted for assault with a deadly weapon, was spotted in the area. The suspect, described as a Black male adult with purple hair, fled on foot, prompting a foot pursuit. Additional law enforcement units were dispatched Code 3 to assist.

The suspect attempted to evade capture by hopping over walls and continued running through the neighborhood. He then climbed onto the roof of a nearby house, refusing to comply with the deputies' orders. As the situation escalated, authorities set up a containment around the area, trying to prevent the suspect from fleeing further.

After a tense standoff, the suspect finally began to climb down from the roof. Law enforcement quickly moved in and took the suspect into custody without further incident.
