CHP Cracks Down on Reckless Minibike Riders Endangering the Public
Antelope Valley, CA – On February 23, 2025, around 12:05 p.m., the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Antelope Valley responded to multiple reports of reckless minibike and off-road vehicle activity in the area. This dangerous behavior created hazardous conditions for other drivers. Despite the officers’ efforts to track down the riders at various locations, many of the individuals involved evaded law enforcement, ignored traffic laws, and endangered innocent motorists.
At about 3:35 p.m., CHP officers were called to a serious crash on Elizabeth Lake Road, near San Francisquito Canyon Road. The crash involved a Harley-Davidson motorcycle and two minibikes. Initial investigations suggest that the minibikes were riding in the opposite lane, causing the accident. After the crash, both minibike riders fled the scene, leaving the motorcyclist with significant injuries. This incident is being treated as a felony hit-and-run.
The CHP is determined to find those responsible and hold them accountable. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the CHP Antelope Valley Area office at (661) 743-6060.
Captain Zagorski, Commander of CHP Antelope Valley, emphasized, "This reckless behavior that jeopardizes public safety will not be tolerated. We are dedicated to protecting our community and will do everything in our power to bring those responsible to justice."
As California's State Police, the CHP is using all available resources to investigate the incident and ensure that everyone involved, including those organizing these dangerous activities, is identified and criminally prosecuted.
