$10,000 Reward Offered for Information Leading to Arrest of Suspect Who Shot at Officers
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) and Redondo Beach Police Department are asking the public for help in locating the suspect responsible for shooting at two Redondo Beach police officers. A $10,000 reward is being offered for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person involved in this dangerous crime.
The incident occurred on February 21, 2025, at approximately 8:30 PM. Authorities responded to a shooting investigation at El Segundo Boulevard and Doty Avenue in Hawthorne, California. After their investigation, detectives identified Lester Castro as the main suspect and have been actively searching for him ever since. Castro is wanted for the attempted murder of the officers.
In an effort to bring the case to a close, the city of Redondo Beach has joined forces with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau to offer the reward. The authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
To aid in the investigation, a press conference will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the LASD Homicide Bureau located in Monterey Park, California. During this event, officials will provide further details about the case and share images of the suspect.
