Igloo Recalls 1 Million Coolers Due to Finger Injury Hazard
Igloo is recalling over 1 million of its "90 Qt. Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers" sold across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. This recall comes after reports of serious injuries, including fingertip amputations, caused by a hazardous handle design. The tow handle can pinch fingers, leading to potential amputation or crushing injuries.
In total, 12 injuries have been reported in the U.S., including broken bones and cuts. The coolers were sold at major retailers such as Costco, Target, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Amazon from 2019 to January 2025, ranging from $80 to $140. Affected coolers can be identified by the model number and "IGLOO" logo printed on the side.
Consumers are urged to stop using the coolers immediately and contact Igloo for a free replacement handle. Igloo is committed to consumer safety and is offering this recall as part of their efforts to improve product safety.
If you own one of the recalled coolers, you can register for a replacement handle on Igloo’s website or contact the company at 888-943-5182 or igloo90qt@sedgwick.com. More information is available through the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and other relevant agencies.
